What is a chatbot?

A chatbot is a software to simulate a text conversation with a human. The human enter a question and the chabot tries to answer in an intelligent way... A chatbot is an interactive way to animate a website. It may be available 24H a day to help your visitors.

Why it is fun and interesting?

A chatbot can be like you: you could speak to tens of people at the same time 24H a day!. A chatbot can be fitted to be specialized into one topic. It will be your committed expert on-line. A chabot can answer to your visitors, it can make a kind of human touch on your website. The visitors come and ask questions into a natural language.

Dialog with a chatbot

Select a bot in the list, click on its name, arrive in the dialog page. Simply enter your question in the text field, press the [Say] button and read the answer. All the conversation is printed at the top of the screen. If the bot is lost press the [Reset] button.

Create your own bot

A Ysalaya bot is made of memory and language.
  • Memory:
    The memory is the bot knowledge. It is what the bot knows on various subjects. The content of the memory is enter by the author. It is divided into topics, questions and answers.
    • topic: one subject during the conversation
    • question: imagine the visitor question
    • answer: the text replied by the bot

  • Language:
    The language is used during the conversation like we used English to communicate. It is divided into words and linked words.
    • word: one natural word (like "color")
    • linked word: one word link to another (like "red" linked to "color")

About the Ysalaya kernel

The Ysalaya kernel is the heart of the software. It make the search of the answer from the question.
  • First, the kernel looks directly if the question is enter in the content. If yes, the answer is directly the answer find in the bot memory
  • Second, the kernel searches a question which contains words links to the visitor question. If yes, the answer will come from the bot question from the transformed visitor text.
  • Third the kernel looks for linked words in all the answers. If yes, the answer will come from the answer which content linked words.
  • The possible answers are rated and the best one comes out.
