FAQ
Ysalaya is a project on chatbots creation and hosting.
Ysalaya means
Your virtual bot iS innocent As Long As You Are innocent.
Ysalaya sounds like a mystic name of a new land ...
a new virtual world of chatbots ...
Ysalaya on-line is a website to create and to host your webbots.
The Ysalaya technology is based on memory and language, all the data are stored in a database. |
The bot memory is the bot knowledge.
The memory is made of text: questions, answers and sentences. The memory is what the bot knows. The memory can be classified under topics.
The memory is entered by the botmaster. And/Or it can be entered by the visitors if the teach me button is public.
Example:
question: who are you ?
answer: I am Lucy!
question: can you help me ?
answer: well can you ask something ? |

What is the language ?

The language is a bridge between the visitor question and the bot answer.
The language linked the visitor words to the bot words. If a word is found in the question, it can be translated to a bot word and then the answer is searched according to the linked word.
The language is a powerfull way to answer to unknow question, just imaging visitors words and linked them to the bot words.
Example:
language: color --> blue
visitor question: what is your color
bot answer: I like blue
color is linked to blue in the language, blue is used to search the answer, the answer contains blue
language: position --> job
visitor question: what is your position ?
bot question: what is your job ?
bot answer: I am a software maker
position is linked to job in the language. The search is done with the word job. Job is in a bot question, thus it is like if the visitor asked a question on job and not only on position. |

There are many features to configure the visitor access: the dialog buttons can be public (visitors can use them) or private (only the botmaster can use them).
The dialog buttons are
- Teach me!: input bot content
- Know me!: view the bot content
- Dialogs: view the public dialogs
- My info: view the detailled bot information
- Settings: set public bot configuration
- Reset: reset the bot memory and interface
The visitors could input content but they cannot deleted it. |
This FAQ gives a good way to create the bot content.
Have fun, create a virtual personnality, imagine and write.
- The memory is the bot knowledge. It is made of questions, answers and sentences.
- The first step is to write a text on your bot: line by line, let your imagination working. Tell a story! Once you have 10 lines of text, you have the first bot answers!
- The second step is to imagine the visitor questions. What could the visitor ask for each bot answer ? Let's play like an actor, try to be someone else. Once you write the 10 questions, you have your bot content. Yes!
- The third step is to input the questions and answers with the Ysalaya on-line interface. Enter them on the dialog page, with the [Teach me!] command. Once you input your works into the memory, your bot is alive...
- The bot personality is important. To work on it, you can play like an actor: be your bot, enter into it. How does it feel ? What does it say ? What does it know ? Line by line, sentence by sentence.
- Split the memory and write part after part. Think about a little area into the bot. Play like an actor and imagine what the bot can say in one particular situation. What does it think about one specific subject.
- Start to write on a paper or in a text editor. Do not think too much in the technical way of questions and answers. Forget them at the first step. Just write ten lines of text, like if you want to introduce it to someone else. Then imagine what can be the visitor question for each bot sentence.
- Feel comfortable: dedicate a small notebook to your bot. Just like if you write a personnal diary. Each time you input your bot, write the text on your note book. Hand writen everywhere, in the train, in the bus, at lunch. It could nice to rest creating your bot. It could be more "human" and "alive" to write something on a paper book. Of course you can use your favorite text editor and save file by file your bot progression.
Feeding a bot is almost like writen a story.
